Me and Soph went to #PVDpride last weekend - I can't wait for #stpetepride this coming weekend! (Although it may be too hot for the loaf) #pride #pridemonth2015 #pandapotato #pugsofinstagram
I'm working on some new collages tonight, which I am really enjoying. they include:
+this Boston terrier girl
+a sweet gay couple including a chihuahua and another handsome pup
+various other adorable gay and lesbian couples (no promises, but I'm trying to have some new art prints and maybe cards for St. Pete Pride)
Okay, I better clean up before I fall asleep in a pile of papers, glue, and tape on the couch.
This is an illustration I made two years ago for The Ocean Chronicles. Every day they support the ocean by sharing inspiring and relevant ocean info. Today is World Oceans Day, and it is the day for everyone to remember the ocean and pledge to their best for it over the next year. Remember, your actions affect the environment, and you need to take responsibility!
Friday evening was the Tampa Bay Etsy Craft Party, hosted at the Coliseum in St. Petersburg. What a wonderful event! I had not even known about etsy craft parties until this year, and it was so cool! There were a ton of vendors, all of whom were talented in their own media and happy, friendly people. There were also craft demos, which seemed awesome, but I was too busy at my own booth to participate (not going to complain there!). It was really an amazing turnout- I definitely did not expect that many people.
The last few weeks I had been prepping for this show. It was my first indoor show of the year, and I wanted to make sure I had enough ways to display my work, especially all the art prints. It's not completely perfect yet, but it turned out to be a pretty good setup!
Another thing I had been prepping was a piece inspired by Sophie (my beauty pug) and her newest boyfriend, Wrigley (a very handsome, but obviously quite short dachshund owned by my friend Emily of Strings of Tampa Bay). I thought it might fall through, but at the last minute I got prints of this piece which I am calling "Love Pups" made and they are now available for sale!
All in all, it was a great sale. I got to talk to a bunch of nice people, both vendors and customers. Everyone was in such a great mood! I got to spend a few hours with Emily, and we had tasty tasty snacks. And let's not forget, I made some $$$! Haha. But in all honesty, it was super fun, and I hope to do more events like this- I hope especially that TBEC organizes another event soon, and that all the craft parties can be in such a beautiful venue as the Coliseum!
Spoils of war! AKA my acquisitions from the Tampa Bay Etsy Crew Craft Party last Friday in St. Pete!
Clockwise from top: pottery by Jackie Maphis OrganicFlame, paper heart from The Paper Sea Horse, pig and fish wooden earrings from iamsonotcoolvintage, and hand lettered greeting cards from Franny & Franky! So happy with these beautiful objects!
Today is Sophie the beauty pug's sixth birthday! We celebrated with tacos and ice cream cake. We love you, Soph!
I gave an artist talk the other evening for Arts & Company's ART:STORIES, and one of the prompts were other artists that I admire. One artist I spoke about is my bestie Rachel Stern, and I was very excited to read an interview with her she just did for Humble Arts Foundation. It's really good, and there are so many beautiful pictures.
I spent some time yesterday putting up posters for the TBEC: Tampa Bay Etsy Crew Craft Party this all over in Clearwater and Dunedin. The one I put up in Dunedin House of Beer was super exciting because I was able to stick it under Jon Ditty's album release party poster!!
